RTG Ventures Signs Agreement With Origin Digital, an Accenture Company
RTG’s CloudChannel Gains Best of Breed Video Management and Global Reach
RTG Ventures, Inc. and Origin Digital, an Accenture company, have formed a strategic alliance to launch CloudChannel, a revolutionary new way of syndicating and monetizing streamed video for the live entertainment industry.
The $120 billion digital technology industry is vast and multi-faceted, but RTG has concluded that digital sales of live music video have been avoided by many because of the complexity of rights agreements. RTG has taken on that challenge as an opportunity with enormous upside. CloudChannel allows live event rights agreements to be modeled so that record labels, bands, production companies and sponsors can deliver rights-managed, monetized content direct to fans.
RTG Ventures has integrated the Odaptor Platform, Origin Digital’s proprietary software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform, into CloudChannel to seamlessly handle video asset management and transcoding as well as live and on demand streaming. Odaptor has already been used by some of the world’s largest brands such as Microsoft and professional sports leagues, but RTG is the first company to integrate the platform into a cloud-based web application using Microsoft Azure for its cloud-based data centre.

The first products being marketed in the suite are CloudChannel Live!, a turnkey solution for monetizing concerts streamed live to digital devices and CloudChannel ONE, a point-to-point streaming service for premium on-demand content. As described in a letter to shareholders earlier this month, RTG is launching its products commercially and is on a very aggressive business development path.
